Seaview Church Inc (ABN 93 024 583 974) recognises that privacy is important and is committed to ensuring the privacy guidelines outlined in the Privacy Act (1988) and the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act (2000) are upheld throughout the church and it’s related entities.

What Will Be Collected
The Church has adopted this Privacy Policy as we recognise the right of people to protect information considered to be of a personal or sensitive nature. Personal information (as defined by the Privacy Act) may include: name; address; age; phone contact details; email address.

Sensitive information (as defined by the Privacy Act) may include: financial information (e.g. bank account details, credit card information); information about your beliefs; health information.

How We Use Your Information
Seaview Church Inc will collect personal and other sensitive information during the course of dealings with you. Such instances may include, but are not limited to; communication to establish and maintain your involvement with the Church, the provision of products or services that you have requested from the Church and for the direct promotion of products or services we believe may be of interest to you.

Where possible the purpose for which we collect information will be made clear to you at the time of collection.

Personal and/or sensitive information will only be used for the purpose under which it was collected, unless your consent is sought.

Information will not be released to third parties without prior consent, with the exception of where there is a statutory provision that requires information to be released.

All reasonable steps will be taken to ensure personal and/or sensitive information collected, used and disclosed by Seaview Inc is accurate, complete and up to date.

Protection of Personal and Sensitive Information
Electronic versions of any personal and/or other sensitive information used by the Seaview Church Inc will be stored in a secure password protected database. Only authorised staff members may access information stored on the database.

Hard copies of any information collected by the Seaview Church Inc be stored in a secure locked location to ensure privacy regulations are not breached.

In line with the Privacy Act (1988) hard/electronic copies of personal or sensitive information obtained by Seaview Church Inc, will be archived in a secure location for a period of seven years.

The Right to Access Your Information
Everyone has a right to request access their own personal and/or other sensitive information held by Seaview Church Inc. However, there are some circumstances where Seaview Church Inc may deny access to this information, as per the guidelines of the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act (2000). Such circumstances may include situations where disclosing information would have a serious impact on the privacy of other individuals, or where the request to access information is frivolous or vexatious.

Copies of this privacy policy may be downloaded from the church website and/or will be made available to any individual upon request.

The Right to Make a Complaint
If you feel your personal and/or other sensitive information has not been handled appropriately, or in a manner that breaches the guidelines of the Privacy Act (1988) and/or the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act (2000) you are entitled to lodge a complaint.
